This morning we decided, even though it wasn't our usual weekend to walk the dogs on the beach, to head to Santa Cruz. We all had so much fun, the timing was perfect, we arrived to see a lot (probably 15 or so) dolphins very close to shore. Instead of doing what we usually do, which is walk up and down the beach while the dogs run, we sat, watched the dolphins and the boys played. Jonathan even proved he can do more than skoot on his butt - he actually crawled, albeit very slowly.

Today, September 2, 2008 is Ben's "official" first day of kindergarten. I say "official" because he actually started kindergarten last year, a year early, but because we had no clue he was moving up from pre-K we didn't manage to get the First Day of Kindergarten photo. This year is a smaller class than last, and fingers crossed, there'll be less drama than last year (thanks to one particular very naughty kid who managed to disrupt all the others). Notice Ben's new shoes, which we bought yesterday for him. I just hope he never has to take them off at school, because the teachers will hate having to deal with lacing them up.
