Life's a Beach

This morning we decided, even though it wasn't our usual weekend to walk the dogs on the beach, to head to Santa Cruz. We all had so much fun, the timing was perfect, we arrived to see a lot (probably 15 or so) dolphins very close to shore. Instead of doing what we usually do, which is walk up and down the beach while the dogs run, we sat, watched the dolphins and the boys played. Jonathan even proved he can do more than skoot on his butt - he actually crawled, albeit very slowly.

The Ross Boys

We've got a couple of crazy boys. Last weekend Ben announced he wanted a mohawk (his 2nd ever hawk), of course, it was the same day as my Company picnic and of course he also wanted a blue hawk. Off to the hairdresser we went. I've got to admit - I love it. The best part - the punk look does not suit his personality one bit. He's one of the most caring boys I've ever known, he's rarely in trouble, he's not in the slightest bit tough. If someone pushes him he's more likely to burst into tears than fight back. I even had to ask him to 'look mean' in order to take this photo.

Jonathan LOVES music - but - he's somewhat particular as to what he likes. Although he can hum to tune to the alphabet - his music of choice is rock. No kidding. While most 16 month old kids are listening to nursery rhymes, Jonathan much prefers Led Zepplin - especially Houses of the Holy.
