Halloween @ School

Today at school was caramel apples followed by a parade. Just before we left the house Bill told me the freeway was closed due to an earlier accident. Therefore, we had to go the back roads - which took forever. While we were waiting in traffic Ben started whining..."Mom, it's not fair the freeway is closed, now my halloween is ruined"

Anyway...we managed to arrived at school minutes before the caramel apple-making began (phew). I was a parent volunteer, helping the kids dunk apples in the caramel, avoiding getting caramel all over their costumes. The kids picked their own apple from the basket, after dunking in the caramel they could pick to coat them in either M&Ms, chocolate chips or candy corn...Ben was the only child who coated his apple in all 3 of the goodies (he's his Daddy's boy!!!).

Thankfully the rain held off and the parade began at 11:30. Despite the kindergarten kids being the last class in the parade, Ben and his friends soon changed that and ran to the front. Which is why I don't have a single photo of him in the parade. Jonathan walked the 2nd half of the parade, he only stumbled a couple of times. Unlike Ben, Jonathan wasn't in the slightest bit interested in the goodies being handed out along the route - he was on a mission, once he started walking he didn't want to stop.
